We have been bombarded with database issues today. Just when we thought we fixed it, something went wrong again. So this is the reason that we have had downtime today. And it is the reason why your threads and posts from after the 26th are missing.

We were forced to revert to a weekly backup made on the 26th of July. We tried to use one of our more recent daily backups but they were corrupt. This means anything that happened after the 26th (at about 1am CDT) will be lost.

I know some members will be disgruntled about loosing their posts, so know that we are most sincere when we say how terribly sorry we are for this inconvenience.

It's taken all day to get things as right as they can be, and I'm sure our run of bad luck has stopped.

That is sort of what this thread is intended to do -- inform our users of the situation, provide an explanation and provide an open "forum" for answering questions.

Obviosly this is the reason for this.
Unlike other forums, this isent at the top, so users dont check in here as its at the bottom.

Its not like users look at topics, then sign in and post, they sign in to gain full access, then post. Therefore telling them about the problam before they become confused like me whould help them out.

Ok, I see your point. My thinking when something like this happens on a forum is to go directly to the "News and Announcements" forum to read about the latest developments. But I see your point that some users might need it right on the front page.

I just wanted to add that I also apoligize about the database issue. It happened just as I was heading out of town with limited internet access so this is why my reply is a bit late. Some data became corrupt and we had no choice but to upload a slightly older backup. I wish there was something else we could have done, but there was not.

Thanks for your continued support of our forums and take care
