I know many of you are anxious to hear the start date of the WT SEO Contest but since great contributions continue to roll in (I have some more to add later today) I have been holding off announcing the official start date (I will say that I am talking a couple weeks, not months).

Like mentioned before, there are a few other SEO contest going on right now. I am not going wait six months to a year to wait until those have finished to start the WT contest. By that time I'm hoping we will be getting ready to start our 2nd contest!

I also think that we have by far some of the best contributions / prizes of almost all the other SEO contest going on in addition to rules that make this contest different. I wish I could participate myself but I don't think that would be fair.

Having said that I appreciate you spreading the word about our contest(wether you are participating in it or not). I think our generous prize contributors deserve that!

Depends on the dates and the keywords.
The new domain (without keywords) is an interesting constraint.
I'm already participating in two other contests and I'm also running my own.
I have also noticed that the domain age has a high influence on Google, but OTOH most past winners did use new domains. So it means the positive influence of the domain name age can easily been overpassed. For the keywords in the domain name, I don't have enough data to evaluate it.
If you can, try to collect data from the very beginning (and from different data centers). Also query other search engines (even if there is no prize). Differences of behavior between the different search engines are extremly interesting.
