I take it you haven't heard any of the thousands of bad reviews on 1+1 or Yahoo domains.

In the matter of fact, I strongly recommend everyone to stay away from 1and1 hosting, their customer service is suck, very slow response. But domain does not need much customer service, and I have used their domain service more than 3 years with no problem.
