Hey

i've uploaded many files (about 300 file) to my website through FTP and i want to copy the folder containing all these files to another website and i can't ask my host to do that so i must install a script on the current website which can connect to the other website through FTP and upload this folder to the other website

I know that there's many web-based FTP scripts but i can't find any one of them can do that

Please, If you know any script can do this tell me.

i think doing this in the way you describe would most definatly not be the best. depending on your account doing this may completely use your bandwidth.

its probably possible to make a PHP script which could connect and send all the files over but this would be quite a intensive script, and would be very server intensive too, as well as using a ton of bandwidth.

Best way would be to (if you server supports it) compress the files into a compressed archiveand then transfering it yourself. and then decompressing it on your server.

Is the other website on the same server? What kind of access do you have to this - just shared hosting (e.g. no SSH)?

no its not on the same server and i have no access to SSH im just a regular user and also i can't ask the hosting company to extract or move such files so i must find a script that can FTP the whole folder online

Why can you not ask your host do this for you?

because they don't provide simillar support. They even can't provide sthings like Un-Tar files

Im guessing your not on Cpanel hosting..

Like i said, the best way is probably to do it yourself! very annouying but by far the easiest

Here is a php script that can run shell commands

you can use this script to zip everything then install the script on the other hosting and fetch your.zip.

If you are on shared hosting you might have port 80 closed for outbound connections and limitation on php process execution time - there is nothing else that can stop you :-) .

Did you tried asking the winning host to move the files ?

He dont have access...

to run the script he need only php. no ssh is required.
