I think to get all the functionality that they have would take a bit of time. Rough guess maybe 150 hours of work with testing.

To do what, exactly? Ought to be more clear. This is the database forum, so whatever script you want is probably a SQL SCRIPT for a database structure to allow things to be stored. All the fancy html and js stuff wouldn't apply in this forum.

How many hours depends on how experienced you are with databases.

I'm looking for something a database managed that's a little more "excuse the term" web 2.0 in function.

I'm dreaming of a user rated style cms (php, mysql) It can't be all that difficult I suspect, but I'm not an SQL junky.

Oviously it would consist of a user management system (with a user admin section.

Link uploads or "submitted" with admin approval.

Anyhow, the front page would harbor the newest and highest rated websites split in two sections. EG: left side highest rated right side: newest additions.

Anyone interested?

SQL and databases hardly come into it at all, it's almost all programming and template design, the DB schema is probably less 2% of the proposed project.

Once you get past the pretty graphics, there's not a lot to this site. The UI is based around DW templates, so there's a good chance DW or Contribute is used for updating content pages.

Some programming would be involved in the various forms for adding new members, events and sites (with screengrabber); then outputting these records into various reports for display here and there.

There'd be an admin section for members, site approval, ad accounts, ad rotation. Then there'd the rss feed and forum as well.

The database would be dead simple and would only take a few hours. Starting from scratch this'd take 2-4 weeks; a bit of the programming would be intermediate to advanced. Plugging various off-the shelf gpl scripts together could speed up the process and a working site in 1-2 weeks. Testing and bug stomping a further 1-2 weeks.
