I'm looking to create one of those nifty music players that there are links on a page and you can click one and it will play that audio file on the page in the player...I dont know where to start with this. And honestly dont know if it's php so any and all help would be great!

Yes should be pretty simple but PHP would require the page to refresh as the data on the new audio is POST or GET and it uses that variable in a player embed or something.

Or perhaps AJAX.

Javascript may be more efficient.

Unless you're talking about these players like flash ones.

Yes, if you want a type of music player that plays right on the page you will need a flash app (.SWF File). The only thing that might need to be handled with PHP is the playlist.

With PHP you can create playlists and store the song data in a MySQL DB and then grab it from a url such as www.domain.com/music.php?playlist=5
