i have to launch a site where only contacts of different persons and photos will be displayed and i wanna know how i can add photo to my sql as well as text?

i don't think this is really necessary. you can put photo path to mysql and store photos in local pages. if you store photos in mysql you would have problems displaying them

I agree. Just grab the URL from the database, parse that (stripslashes etc)and echo it.
