As you will probably tell by my question my experience level is not great but here goes..

I'm building a registration form and am coding my text areas but the code appears in the text box like so:

Can you post the code? My guess is that in your code special characters are being replaced with their html equivilants. Also make sure that the file you're working with is a .php file and your server supports php.

Yes, its probably that you're not using the .php extension. Post the code let us have a look!

lol yeah you're absolutely right, that was the problem, I was using .html, doh! Sorry!!
