Hi,

I am designing a website for a publisher who produced three free magazines. They want someone to be able to go to a page that displays their three magazines and register and login to view the pages. It is fine for them to be able to use the same username and password to view each magazine (so they just log in once). They also want to be able to "collect the information obtained when they register and to which publication they register under —*and track clicks as much as possible."

I am not a programmer (only a graphic designer turned web designer ) so if someone could provide me with a solution or suggestions on how to accomplish this that are easy to set up, that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

You need to check what the host server supports (ASP, .NET, PHP etc. ) and what database (MySql, MSSql, Oracle, Access etc) is available.

If you want the users to go through a registration process and you want to store the data in a database you can do it with php/mysql. If you want to "pre" populate the directory, you can use the Apache (webserver) .htaccess file to restrict access to a file or directory.
