Hello,

I am in the process of developing a CMS system for all our clients, I have one question and I cant seem to phrase it right in google bcause i cant find anything.

Is there a script or program out there that allows you to have a master installation and when you make changes to the master installation it updates all the other websites through ftp and mysql? I find it a pain everytime i update the package to go through every site and update all the CMS systems.

Thanks

You could have a automatic file updater (made in PHP) inside the script, that runs on crons.

What you will need to do is download a file (via the php script) and overwrite the file you want to update. You could also run a MySQL updater in the same script.

Use Subversion. Once you changed the master version, you commit it to repository and then just update working copies on all your servers. You can also setup a cron job on each server and update the working copy, let's say, once a hour. In this case if you make a change the copy on a server will remain old-versioned not more than hour.
