I had the need for a solution in getting an eCommerce site set up quickly and bought a full site template. I can't get the seller's attention, and I've been trying to figure this out for 5 days now.

I know Dreaweaver, but this is my first experience with PHP.

My site is running fine on my host server (but the content is still the default that came with the template.)

The site uses .php exclusively, but .html files came with the package. So there's an index.html that is visually identical to index.php.

It was my understanding that I could edit the .html to customize it for my product, but what I can't figure out for the life of me is how the .php file aquires the changes.

As I write this it seems like the silliest question I've ever asked, but I'm willing to endure any amount of humiliation to understand how this is supposed to work.

I'm really not sure what you mean. Please elaborate.

Its possible that the .php file has the changes in it already. Try viewing the .php in dreamweaver in the "Design" mode.
