i wasnt sure if this sould go here or not bit of a mixed subject.

okay i have a error 404 script so i get a email on 404 (and other) errors.

everynow and then i have users obviously trying to exploit the site because i get urls like: This error occured when trying to access: uk.calmcharity.org/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?UL=1&ACT=4&BUILD=6551&STRMVER=4&CAPREQ= 0

and a few others. but should i have the IP automatically added to the list if they try to access these obvious urls?

or should i just ignore?...

Ignore them...
Most probably, their are just worms trying to spread some "love".
I see those attempts too, but they come so quickly that they surely are automated.
And maybe even the IP is forged.

Yea, I tail my apache access logs all the time. I can sit here and watch countless numbers of bots looking for various exploits ( phpbb mostly ). I personally don't mess with blocking the IPs.

The IPs are most likely spoofed.

Either way, I don't think it would hurt to automatically blacklist them from your site. bleh
