Hello,

all my sites run perfectly under hosting with PHP version 5.2.5.

yesterday i bought a script and received following quiery afterwards:

Please make sure that your hosting supports PHP 4.x in order to run our script.

What does that mean?

a) does that script need to be upgraded/changed to my higher PHP version?
b) is it a hell of work to change a script to a higher version?

I have seen there is a threat with all the possible changes between PHP version 4 and 5

Please advise your thoughts,

Thanks

I'd say to test it under PHP5.
Most of the scripts I've done under PHP4 where working out of the box in PHP5.

Some required 1 or 2 hours tweaking to be adapted, but it was really nothing.
PHP5 does a really good job at adapting itself to a PHP4 script.
The script have to be really badly crafted to have a serious problem in PHP5

Usually a script working on php4 can fail on php5 if it uses objects because object model was seriuosly changed in php5, but most scipts working on php5 will definitely work on php4.
