I am currently looking into ways to generate some income from my website and a banner rotation system for adverts is one thing I'm definetly interested in. Does anybody know of any good scripts that can provide this? Also note that I'm looking for an advert rotator and not something to randomly display images or flash documents. Any help would be great

Well Google Adsense can generate banner ads, text or images, and its dynamic according to your site content. This isn't what you asked for, but you do know its there, right?

hehe thanks for the advise, I do know adsense is about but I'm planning on having that at the bottom of the page, whilst I place banner rotation at the top so paid advertising gets more exposure by loading at the top of the page.

openAds (formerly phpAdsNew) [ http://www.openads.org ] looks like something that could fit your needs.

But it's big, and may be hard to handle at first.

thanks for that tripy, had a look last night but the script looks too advanced for what I have in mind. Essentialy i just need s imple banner rotation (not via random) system that records statistics, if it works via mySQL then thats even better. But it just needs to be simple, looking at scripts on hotscripts.com for this purpose but its very hard to find the exact one for the job in hand!

If you check phpclasses.org or scriptseach you can find hundreds. Banner rotation is rather simple and very common.

Thanks for the advice guys, in the end I went with a script I found on hotscripts, called 'mAd' seems to do the job perfectly. Rotates the ads, has stats and a lot is customisable. Job Done

Unless you are planing on charging your clients personally, I would go with an already established and reputable company. They provide the ads, all you have to do it input a few lines of html code.
