My question:

I have an xml .flv video list I would like to convert into a scrolling html list.

Do I need to use php for this or?

Of course you can use php for it, why not. But you also can parse xml in c++ or asp or perl or whatever else. Use what you can handle.

try the DOM parser of php. its the easiest.

I used PEAR::XML/Unserializer class.

I'm using a flash xml video player and I would like to also have a scrolling html version of the play list.

I think I'm barking up the wrong tree.

I am using a flash flv player that loads content via xml. All I do is edit the xml to point to the video's I'm uploading. I'm not sure parsing the xml into html would interact with the flash document I'm using. So scratch that.

I need an FLV video player with scrolling thumbnails, descriptions on the left or right side of the flash document that uses xml for the play list.

If you know of an open source script. I'd appreciate it.

This is hardly related to php. I even think that it is not related to php in any way. Try searching google for freeware flash flv player, I think you'll find some, or steal the one from some sort of youtube.
