Sir P is correct. You can only get a MAC address from a computer on the same subnet as you. You would need to do an arp request and these are generally not relayed beyond the local subnet as it's a layer 2 activity.
So basically, unless you've got your users on the same subnet as your webserver, it's not possible.
My english isn't that good, so when I say subnet, I mean same physical network, like a LAN or such. No routers or gateways inbetween clients and server.
