Mistakes other people have done.

Tried to make a php page without the file extenstion .php and wondering why it wont work.
My webdesign partner changed the password of the database (I was away for the long weekend (3days), he doesn't know php too well), I get back and he is having a "stroke" saying "The database is fuc*ed , It's crashed, make a new one!, the site has been down for 3 days! We will lose our affiliates"
Took me 5 minutes to find out that he had changed the database password.

if($var = true) is something we all do from time to time I think!

This one's not PHP related, but equally daft: I had a flash animation that I wanted to change (adding a preloader I think) so I made the changes, exported the movie, and uploaded the new .swf. No visible change, so I cleared my browser cache - still no change. I fiddled around for hours re-saving the movie until I found that my local view in FileZilla was pointed at my backup copy of the site and thus I was uploading the old movie every time!!

Greetings Friends, My name is John Miller and I would say that the dumbest thing I ever did with php is to try to do it myself after not programing since 1989, lol. any ideas on a good resource for php for dummies?? Or possibly a good programer that would like to jump in at top level of a new program in exchange for programing?? The marketing team is in place, services and products are real, most of the script is even in place but I lack the knowhow to finish it out. Any and all help is viewed as a blessing, and I am really sorry if this is the wrong forum for this post, I am rather new to forums, my primary function is money making ideas.
