Do search engines treat PHP any differently when spidered...?

Do they parse the entire page or just the HTML...?

They treat it as a regular page however some search engines do not like query strings and almost all will ignore query strings after a certain length.

The search engine will treat PHP pages same as HTML pages when the bot is doing the search. It only look at the words within the name of your file. Say if you use my_self.php, it will only recognize two words: "my" and "self".
