I'm having a problem with oscommerce. I replicate this site digitaldownloadshop.com and install on a new domain and everything works perfect except for one thing. The files that the customer downloads are currupt. instead of them being a 1 meg file they are all 4 kb. It seems like it is downloading the shortcut or something. email me at info@bizpro-marketing.com if interested in helping.

Well, i'm not going to email you. If you wanted emails because you don't want to hang around here checking your thread every hour or so, edit your original post and choose one of the subscription options so you get email notifications of new posts.

or, if it's because you want to communicate private information to the person who looks at your problem, send me a private message. I'll get it.

Also I'm having problems understanding your problems. You moved the site from one host to another? but now the files being downloaded are wrong? If you just used tar&gzip on the files, and extracted them on the new server, i'm guessing you have broken symbolic links.

Look at the source and figure out where the file is that is _supposed_ to be downloaded, then look at the file that is _actually_ supposed to be downloaded, and figure out what went wrong.

Ya I forgot to turn that option on to recieve email. It is on now.

Well to clarify the issue a bit more....

I am actually leaving this site www.digitaldownloadshop.com as is and replicating the site on to another domain+hosting account.

This is running os commerce. Now upload all the same files to the new host.
Next I import the SQL database and relate all the variable in the config files to the new domain.

Everything works works fine except for one issue. I can browse products, signup up account etc.

The problem comes in when a comstomer goes through the order process, pays and receives the download link on where to get the product they just paid for.

Upon clicking on the download link the "save as" box appears and the customer can download fine. All of the products are between .5 - 3 megs in file size.

When they download the file in this case it is always around 4kb in size. Next they try to unzip and file is obviously currupt. This leads me to believe that they are just saving the shortcut or someting weird.

The way it is suppose to work is that the download link draws files from the download directory where all the products are stored. They then get a working file

As a side not I was told by an oscommerce programmer that there has to be a temp directory for downloads to work. But I have kept exact same directory structure as digitaldownloadshop.com(which works fine)

I'll send you a pm to let you know that I have posted.
