pls can somebody help me? i have dreamweaver 8,and xamp both installed on my pc, however i dont know how to connect forms i created on dreamweaver to the database, please i need detailed explanation

Once you created a site copy it to a new folder in the htdocs folder in xampp. Name it whatever you like.

Then you should be able to view it like a regular web site by entering localhost/foldername into any browser.

Im not sure why you need to "connect" to your XAMP as your running it on your computer, if your trying to use the FTP connection to connect to your XAMP then your going about it the wrong way.

Just edi thte files in your xamp/htdocs/ folder using dreameweave and save them.

Do Not follow the advice in that thread. You will lose the link to phpadmin if you do.

Create a new folder in the htdocs folder, place your files there and then browse to localhost/newfolder/

what do you mean by losing the link to phpmyadmin. It is easily accessed by localhost/phpmyadmin

Guess you are right about that. I did not know that you could do it that way. I guess that would be true for all the other links on the orange page also.

I just find it easier to place everything in its own folder since I have 3-4 things going on at the same time.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. It is important to stay organized. But the files that Xamp comes with, are all just bogus .

Anyways, as everyone stated, to get things running on the actual web server .. (to see them when you go to localhost), simply put your files in the htdocs folder.
