okay so im developing a eco themed site from scratch and i need some help.

I would like to build the forum/blog(info portal) from scratch so as it can all intergrate perfectly.

Can anyone help with developing the forum.

i have made a start but it needs tarting up

i have most of the DB structure done just a case of making script to fit with it.

EDIT: after looking at some stuff i think it might be easier to mod mybb.

What i would need to do is basically strip mybb (or another open source forum) so that is basically has no member functions so it was strictly JUST a forum with no user profiles (because they would be done seperately) and the profile edit user edit stuff is seperate.

how could it be done because looking at it mybb and most others are pretty complex

If I were doing it, I would install myBB and look at the user tables to see what is required and then replicate what I need to in my own user tables. Then I'd look at the code where it interacts with those tables and point it to use my user tables and any profile links would instead point to my custom profiles. Then I'd delete myBB's user tables, their registration system, and any other functionality that they included that I didn't use.
