when i used the function time() in my birthday count down script, it gave me wrong result.again when i used filesize() function gave me different result from what is indicated in the file's property box. can someone help me out?

Can you give me some examples ?
i think the problem in time() is that it give it the number of seconds from 1970 until today: It's a linux time so this is why it is different.

time() is not related to the time found on filesize()...
