Has anyone used any scripts like the ones on this site? I wouldn't want to depend on these but there are a few that look like they could save me some time. What are the pros and cons over having someone write them? http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/

I will typically use a PHP script from somewhere like hot scripts when I just need something quick and it does the job. If I am needing to put together something of more importance, maybe a project of my own or for a client of mine, I will look for either an Open Source App or have it custom built.

An Open Source PHP Script always trumps a free php script from somewhere like Hot Scripts because of the support and scalability that comes with open source code.
