There's a lot of questions out there that people ask like "should I learn PHP?" or "What would I need PHP for?".

Well, here is a handy guide I came across that tells you exactly what it's used for, where to begin, what exactly PHP does, etc. and it helped me when I decided to start learning it myself:

This is a good post, but personally, i don't think that website provide info that can encourage someone to learn PHP. The website itself seems to be a poor one "poorly design". If you want to help someone from learning php, then it's better that you provide example how php is better than others and how you benefit from learning it.
For me, I learn php because it is an open source, get more sample code from the net, easy to understand and very dynamic.

Anyway, good attempt of posting.

I use php because it is similar to c and it is very simple scripting language to use for web programming. Besides, it is supported by most hosting providers.

Yeah, I am not in IT field, but a medico perso. I can write websites in PHP, it means that PHP is for evryone.

There's plenty of sites out there that offer GREAT advice that don't have the best of designs or graphics implemented.

It's not about learning PHP code, but what it's used for, and what it can offer you. Many people have created threads like "What coding language should I learn?" or "What is PHP?" or something.

Again, I'm not trying to encourage anyone to "learn PHP". I don't know the language very well myself, and it wasn't meant for you to actually get started coding in the language.

If people want to know whether they should use PHP, or what it is exactly, then I'd say the site is a good starting point. View the website as an introduction to PHP and it's capabilities, NOT as a tutorial for starting to code it.
