Hi All,

I have had a website built that runs on a reverse auction platform and have just a few general questions about these types of sites in general. Since this is my first experience with a website of this magnitude, I have no idea what expectations I should have in regard to bugs. My site has only been up for a couple of months but just in this past week, we have run into 6 bugs alone. Things that were running just fine all of a sudden aren't. I keep putting it off to the fact that the site is new but I'm not so sure anymore. The site is mostly PHP with some HTML and MySql databases. Can someone tell me if this is normal for a site that has all the components of a reverse auction? Why does something work one minute and not the next? Is it normal to have this many and will the bugs ever stop? Every time I hear my email "ding" informing me of a new message I cringe in the hopes that it is not something else wrong.

I would be grateful to anyone that can lend me the benefit of their experience or knowledge in this area. Thanks

There are times that the server can cuase a problem and not the software you are using.. There can also be problems with connections via the web and sometimes it can be a web router problem..

We all know what it is like to have php errors that we don't expect to have, but to help you: We need to know what platform you are working with, or if custom, any specific error details about the pages producing errors, and the errors they are showing.

As a previous poster said, there are certain parts of a code base that depend on certain server settings, php/mysql settings, and that could be the problem and a quick fix.

Please give more specific info...

Oh and by the way... as to your title: dumbest question ever posted, we will help someone that knows nothing about websites/php. Don't be fooled by the technical jargon of other threads in this category, because we will help anybody that has any question about learning/configuring/html/css/php problems!!!

That's what a forum is for...

See my profile for IM info... I'm always on
