hello all

i've recently got ZendStudio into my possesion, which i now find being the best PHP IDE available for a linux development enviroment. However i am having some dificulty setting tings up. I was wondering if any of you are using this software, and if you are, how do you have workspaces set up?
My ideal configuration would be to have a local workspace where all of my projects are stored, and a remote (samba or ftp) connection to where i can upload the changed files automaticly. I know Macromedia Dreamweaver has something like this, you can change and save files localy, but when you press a key to run the site, it automaticly uploads the changed files and opens the location in your favorite browser.

ZendStudio is based on Eclipse, so maybe any of you have any experience with this software?

tnx

hi, i am not sure if zend studio is able to to this. local projects yes, but upload instantly to a remote server, i guess not.

i used zend 5 for linux at the company i was working, but i've never seen a feature like that. we wrote our own bash script to pull the data to the server

helo all

just for future reference and for anyone else trying to acomplish the same, i post the solution i have found. It is possible to do this using an Aptana plugin, it has a nice tool called Sync Manager. When you install it you can confiigure a remote loacation (i use FTP myself) and connect it to site in a local workspace. You can then double click the connection in Sync Manager, and it gives you options to upload, download, or do both, to the changed files, it also creates dirs, deletes unneded files...
The nice thing is you can set a shortcut to upload just the file you are editing. That way i can edit a file, press CTRL+S to save it localy, then CTRL+ALT+S to upload it through FTP (which works suprisingly fast i might add), press CTRL+ALT+RIGHT to turn the compiz cube arround where i have a browser open, and then F5 to refresh. That's it, i can view the changes on my site ...wickid, it takes a second, and looks amazing thanks to compiz hehe

anyway, here is the link to the HOWTO for setting up that Aptana plugin
