This is a stupid question.. but as I dont really know much about the hosting side of webdesign.. So Im kinda confused..

The question is..

Do queries to MySQL use up your bandwidth?

Because what I was thinking is if they dont then surely the more stuff that can be put into MySQl will save bandwidth..

Thanks

Bandwidth, as in transfer from server->client?

It doesn't matter where you store or work with data on the server side, the same amount of data has to be transfered through the WWW back to the client. The only thing that a host would probably consider is how much resources you are taking up (ie. reading a 20 meg XML file into memory every page load probably wouldn't blow over too well )

Just because you are storing data in a database, for example, doesn't change the fact that you still have to transfer the data to the client.
