This site was fine up until about December 8th (Latest PHP release date) Now it performs fine in FF but is very slow and uses up 100% of client cpu time in IE.

It seems that the trouble is with a synchronous xmlhttp call.

Look for an iFrame on one of your pages or take off all third party scripts and add them back one at a time. You definately have a problem of some sort.

I am seeing this on more than one free host site. I am also seeing it delived via ad server scripts. Not sure what crapware they are trying to load but it is a real problem. This one got my dual core cpu usage to about 90% and held it there. Had to force IE to shut down.

Here or at another forum I read about a security hole in IE regarding xml. I can't recall what it said.

FYI, problem is with bravenet hosting and seems to be related to latest php release. also I am having problems with files reverting to earlier versions, so they must be swapping servers around. I hope they get it together soon, they have been an excellent host... and my brain is frying. Also, I am using an Iframe for uploading pics, There really is no way around it since php has no facility for uploading via ajax. PS this is not a free or even cheaply hosted site.
