Hi I'm in no way a computer genius like the rest of you are. I'm a business guy trying to learn how to learn this website stuff. I recently opened a blog by using blogger and made my website http://www.financialpig.com but then I'm restricted from doing many things like adding links to it and etc.,

I was wondering how hard it would be to emulate something similar to my blog site. On my blog site the admin page allows me to "Create post" and easily just use the tool bar to apply colors and stuff and some html to "post something"

Is it hard to make something post?

I think what your asking is if you can make your own blog system.
There's no point in reinventing the wheel here. There are heaps of great FREE solutions already available.

Wordpress is a great one (and the one I use). It is highly customisable and there are heaps of addons, tweaks and themes available for it.

If you go to http://wordpress.com, you can sign up and get a blog straight away. But, if you have hosting, the best way to do it would be to download the package and install it on your web hosting. This way, you can customise it however you want, put ads all over it, whatever you want to do.

The help section on the Wordpress website is very useful and should be able to answer all your questions.

You can design a site similar to yours in html/css and implement a php/mysql CMS (content management system) with a WYSIWYG editor. You can also customize the WYSIWYG editor.

Yes, I'm currently using blogger.com. There are so many restrictions including Search Engine Optimization. I'm having difficulties optimizing SEO so this is why I'm looking for other incentives.

It looks as if you have your own domain, so why not just host your blog on your own server ($5/mo on godaddy) using wordpress (which is free).

Don't bother with the CMS/MYSQL redesign, it really isn't worth the time when there are so many free options out there.

Wordpress has a ton of free plugins that will let you modify the content in anyway you wish. There are also plugins that will allow you to SEO your site (titles, keywords, metas, etc) If you can't find the exact plugin you need, then you can have one build for around $30.
