I am working on a social network site that function similar to facebook, i am at the stage where i need to display the users or friends upcoming birthdays under notification link.

January:
February:
10-James Smith
16-Luke Samuel
19-Jim Jones
March:
April

etc

Could someone help me writing the php script for this, i will really appreciate ur help

Put birthdays (and other events) into a table of their own, order them by date.

You're making a good start developing something like facebook if you're stumped with this....

Another option to displays todays birthday's would be to do a

PHP Code:

WHERE birthday like 'date("m/d/y")' 


in your MYsql query, obviously that's not working code but you get the idea....!
