Hey erveryone.. I'm relatively new to PHP, but know my way around the basics decently..

Anywho.I have a Excel Spreadsheet I would like to use on a website (its a programming schedule for the TV Station I work at) So anyway, rather than make it an ActiveX element, I converted it to a MySQL Database (still working out the kinks on that..) I'm trying to figure out the best way of displaying this data. My thought would be to look at the DB, and display the results by "Whats On Today?" (eg. Filter by Current Date)

And if this is in the wrong forum I apologize

It really depends on how you want users to be able to use the information and how complicated you want to make it. You will have the ability to sort it any way you wish. You can have users pick the date they are looking for, time, show, etc. You can use any or all of your fields. When you decide how and what you want to display we can help you with the code.

I agree with Kandi. I don't think there's an automatic best way to display the information or how best to search on it. I'd think more about your visitors and what information you think they'll find most useful to see and most useful to search for.

The good news is once all the data is in the database it's not too hard to change what you display or what you search for.

First step is getting the data into the db. Then work on being able to display some of it on a web page and work out how to present the data based on a given search. Once you have it working even to a small degree it's pretty simple to add more to the display or more ways to search.
