Hey everyone!
I am building a website for my church and I need to make a few sections editable by the pastor and few other staff members. All they would need to change is some text areas. All the graphic stuff would be done by me. I just dont want to have to type up stuff for them all the time. Is there a way that I can make it to where they type what they want in a text box, hit a submit button, and it changes the wording in a specific section? I want it to be similar to them updating text on their myspace or facebook.
Thanks for the help in advance!!

Yeah I already looked into CMS. It does not have the design capabilities I am looking for. I don't know if php is the answer, but I thought that is where I would start. I might have to look into mysql or java or something..... I know that there has to be some way other than a CMS to do this.....

You could use Dreamweaver template system, where you create files from a template then dreamweaver only lets the user edit the bits you allow them to.

Though, it's a bit Web 1.0.

Yeah it's a little more involved than I want... Thanks for the help! The pastor is an older man and not very technically proficient so I'm trying to make it as easy as possible

You should just do it for him to be honest. In the long term it's more of a hassle, but short term wise it's a bigger time saver (and keeps you in a job).

I use Joomla for a considerable number of church sites. You can customize the template pretty easily and it is extremely easy for the user to update without messing up any of the code.

you may try Microsoft office publisher. There is nothing to code there, pure click and publish. Very Easy For the starter.
Also You can use dream weaver templates too.

Maybe look into http://www.cushycms.com/

Watch the video. This is extremely easy to do. Unlike Drupal or Wordpress, you don't really install anything, no database on your side, etc. Just assign some id's within YOUR OWN design.

Users just choose where content is updated and press submit. I have never used this as I always do WP or other for CMS, but this looks like it couldn't be easier for your situation.

You could build your own CMS but thats a pain within it self.

Depends what he wants to update, you may be able to get away with a BLOGING software.

JOOMLA is much more complex in setup and allows much more flexibility... and for a tech-phob might be scary
