Pls help me on how to costumise my joomla to use for a local house rent listing or any other app i can use to create this site.

Haven't used joomla myself, but...You can search up the php or cgi resource index (google it) and search there for that type of script. You might find a ready made script already there, or at least with minimal customization after installation.
