Whether it be via Amazon, CJ, using an ad rotator app, etc, I'd like to be able to better control and focus the advertising specific to certain areas within a forum.
As an example, if the forum were generally sports related but contained areas for baseball, basketball, soccer, hunting, fishing, etc., etc., I wouldn't want to sell guns to basketball players, running shoes to fisherman, etc. Another example might be to have English language advertisements displayed in one group of forums and Spanish language ads assigned to others.
With various blogs & content management systems I know this sort of thing could be accomplished either by using different modules, chunks, etc or by assigning different themes/templates/subtemplates to the different forums.
Does anyone know of a forum/board that already provides this sort of control either built-in or by using 3rd party modules/plug ins?
If not, any ideas re how this could be accomplished?
I'm partial to sticking with SMF but open to the possibility of using another if necessary.
