I would like to make in php using the photos that are in my sql data base the same effect as you can see the phoros carousel in this web site: http://www.realtor.com/ "Find Homes"
If not possible, can be done in any other language in such way that I can add my own photos and descriptions?

That particular effect is done with YUI (JavaScript library). Although you could pull the data needed via any means, including PHP with MySQL, you will need to either study a particular system, or program one yourself, in order to achieve the slideshow effect.
