are there any programs out there like golive, dreamweaver, frontpage, etc that can edit a php file in design view? I am trying to start an oscommerce site and I do not know code. I was hoping for a more drag/drop alternative like the design view...

You can drag and drop in Fireworks then export to Dreamweaver.

There is nothing like that that I am aware of, and for the most part with regard to PHP, a "design view" PHP editor wouldn't be very effective (if it were even possible). At some point you have to put away the training wheels (wysiwyg editors) and start working with the code.

Dreamweaver can edit the HTML portions of PHP files in design view, and it has a bunch of silly buttons for "if", "else", and looping constructs, which sort of do what you're asking. Dreamweaver also understands how PHP includes work, and will display your document accordingly, though it sometimes botches the layout.

Nullpointer is 100% correct that it is better to just learn to work with the code.

Upload your oscommerce then change a little at a time with ftp and hit refresh in your browser, then you'll see what you've done.

Change something break something fix it rinse and repeat.

It's not that hard but keep backing up, it'll drive you nuts when it goes wrong but it's great when it works.
