Hi, I am searching for a news posting script. I already have my site designed (it is for a Mixed Martial Arts / cage fighting event). The guy who runs the event has decided he wants to start adding news daily. I don't want to go with wordpress or joomla or any big cms like that. I just need something that posts news. I need something where I can have different categories that will be displayed on different sections of the site. I'd like something where I can post a part of the story and then the reader would click Read More for the full story.
Several years ago I used CuteNews for a project. This was before I had discovered CMS like Mambo (before Joomla). One reason I want a script like this and not a CMS like Wordpress or Joomla is the layout and design. I don't think I want to go w/a template or theme and honestly I am not that good at customizing a template/theme. I can replace images, modify CSS and do some simple changes to it but I can not do anything complicated or redesign it. A script like CuteNews is nice and simple. You just put a basic <Include tag that selects the number of stories and category on your page where you want that category of news posts to be displayed. CuteNews may work but I'd like to see what else is out there, what you guys suggest. I always get the best advice here.
