Alright, I have a client who needs a website that allows users to get a unique URL where they can "login" (it would be better if they didnt have to actually login and just be "logged in" by going to the URL) and see certain stats. The stats will be who they have referred to sign up. They want to be able to allow the user to track everyone they signed up.

Pretty much like an affiliate program but without any money involved (it's for a cause).

They also want to do some other things like integrate googlemaps and so on.

My question is, is there a script out there or a tutorial out there to help me get a jump start on this? I'm not advanced in php and this thing doesn't have to be too extensive. I just need the above functionality.

It is not safe for security purpose to give the url in email and user opens and gets loggedin automatically. If another will use that computer then he can aslo opens the same link and see the stat. so to create login section for this functionality would be preferrable.

I thought the same thing at first but honestly, there is no real information shared. No username or password, or anything the user can edit. It will simply be a single page with stats and nothing else. We're not saving any information other then the amount of people they have referred.

Well, i think you can use mod rewrite tool to create unique url for each user, use some Database to store the info.

mod_rewrite isn't going to "create" unique URLs.

mod_alias is the Apache module for that
