I've created a custom cms for a client. They want some way to download all the information from the database (possibly to open in XL) through the browser. Does anyone know if this if possible?

thanks

Jason

the simplest way is to export data via phpmyadmin.
Otherwise you can use one of number dump tools.

I do use phpMyAdmin. I told the client about downloading from phpMyAdmin but that won't do for them.

I think I've found a solution. - You can export an html file from XL and then open it back up in XL. I probably just need to replicate the same structure and use the same xl meta tags included in the exported xl/html file.

Ok so it's MySql then.
Do you have remote access to the database? or localhost only?

Shell access to run mysqldump? or can you run a dump from phpmyadmin?
