this is the following error I get when you log onto the site and it looks broken I know there is a fix for this but I really don't know much about php can anyone help me, thanks....

I don't see anything different in ie from firefox. It would not be a php thing if this is happening. php is rendered on the server because it is a hypertext processor, so the browser can never see the php (hence why you can't see php when you select view source)
So, do you still see this error? If so, try to fix html errors there may be
