I am doing on a program used in a fast food here in our place, I did it using php, mysql and use firefox to run it. Is there a way to make it like visual basic programs where if you are going to install the program you just click the exe file then after running the exe file installation is done and program is ready to use. Because my client (owner of the fast-food) ask for an installer so that they won't need me anymore if ever they need to install the program to a different computer. Is this possible?

If you're hosting it somewhere on the internet, then your client could install Firefox with firefox's installer on another computer. Then he could access your website from another computer.

use the phptriad if it offline and for exe setup, just simply use the rar or zip self-extractor, and give some text how to install and use it..and for connect another computer just use the IP Address of the server... hope this will help

I agree with couponguy

If both computers can access the net then just serve them through a browser over http. Its better than an exe install and is the future of software.

If both computers are on the same network then one machine can serve the other

Your client will have to get familiar with manually inserting IP addresses, creating database names, and passwords if you choose to go the manual approach (non-EXE)

I did not know it was possible to create an EXE program, for PHP, that automatically sets up a database with info. As you have to assume that EXEcutable must be able to (somehow) take a look at your Host, Username, and server Password in order to set that up (that is, if it is truly a PHP script you wish to install, and run)

you could check to see if there is a .exe solution to your client's query, but then- if you find it- you'll be putting yourself out of business, no?
