I'm about to begin building a website and it needs to be editable by a few different users, only simple stuff like news etc... Should i looking at a content management system? Only I have the software (dreamweaver) to change things on the server, and I wanted something where they could just log in on the site and change an editable area.

I will be using a phpbb on the server, and wondered if there was a equivilant for content management (but simpler)

Many thanks

Wordpress is about as simple as it gets.

I am intimidated with wordpress when it comes to editing the themes for it to be custom, but he's right, wordpress is the best. But if you want a simple CMS that does not take away from designing, then maybe you should check out http://network-13.com
This is the one i currently use...its better than CMS like Cutenews [that gets hacked easily.] The guy that made it, Chris, has a forum, and he releases updates about every 3 - 5 months. So the script is very up to date and its wonderful. Its great for sites that use php includes all you have to do is 'include your header, footer, and in place of your content, you insert a php include that links to your CMS. there's a wonderful demo on the main page! try it out!

Thats not so much a CMS as it is just a news module.

I thought thats what he needed, just an "editable area" not an entire CMS like wordpress, although either will work.

he said the simple stuff like, so he will need a solution that either comes with additional features or can have them added in.

Network 13 is exactly what I was after, all the other software seems too complex and/or tries to do too much for what I want it for. Our website is already built and been online for years, and i couldnt see a way of integrating something like wordpress or drupal into it easily, it just seems to want to redesign your website for you. I just needed other team members to be able to change dates/prices etc...

Thanks for the recommendation shanterenee

no problem! i figured all you wanted was something you can intergrate into an existing website, which makes network - 13 perfect! And if you search the form on their, you can have little features added in if you need to, like Phunk Rabbit said. Chris-the owner of the script--is very nice and helpful!

Have a good dayyyy.
