I just changed my password for the root user to ensure security just like phpadmin tells you to do however now when I try to login I get an access denied page. I know the password I just don't know how to input it so I can get back to mysql. Any suggestions?

Type in the password including Capitals, Symbols, and numbers.

If that's not it, maybe the "Adress" your trying to access it from doesn't match the one on record...

login as root on SSH

navigate to the mysql folder and use:

mysql> update user set password=PASSWORD("pass") where user='root';
mysql> flush privileges;

Root is for admining the entire database system... You should create a database for each site you create and create a user and password for that individual database, you will not need the root password to access it from php.

Further Detail AThis is the exact error message

Error

MySQL said:
#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

Create a database for each site, and also have a user and password in place. I hope this can help you to access it from PHP.
