I'm really new to all this and have searched the forum but haven't found what I'm looking for (or don't even know what I'm looking for to begin with). Anyhow, I'd like to accomplish this:
there are at least three solutions: apache mod_rewrite, php redirect, and (but i'm not sure if it works because i not an wordpress expert) define your home page or use a plugin who does that.
Do you need users to actually be directed to that url or do you just want that content displayed as your wordpress front page? Under your reading settings in your wordpress admin section there should be an option to set your front page as a static page.

Thought for today:- Is SEO the only industry where all the cowboys are Indians?

I just wanted the content of that specific page to be displayed as my 'home' page and as chrishirst has provided a very easy and useful link I managed, with the help of you all, to accomplish this. Thank you so much for the help!
