I have been using PHP to develop websites since 5 years ago when PHP5 was just announced and I've been using Zend Studio 5.5 ever since.

It's a little bit obsolete but still does the job. I'm thinking of migrating to the new versions of Zend Studio but it's a pain to learn the new environment.

So what do you use for editing PHP code and managing your PHP projects?

I use TextWrangler for Mac. It's pretty simple all round text editing with FTP.

I use Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, and the PHP features in this version have really improved.

Personally, Zend 5.5 as you do. I am thinking about a new version based on Eclipse platform, but this version is sufficient for me now.

UltraEdit 8.10a
but once it corrupted one of my scripts (300kb)
I was lucky, that I had anothed copy of this script on ftp.

Once, when I asked about good editor, people adviced to use NuSphere-phped.
But I still haven't time to install and see how it works.

Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 is the best tool I have for my team because it gives a good time in editing the big files.

I use Komodo Edit 6. I use Komodo Edit since 5.2 and it's great.
I also tried NetBeans 6.9 but I hate that I have to edit the entire project and I can't edit isolated files.

first I used PHPdesigner2008 (which must be paid for)

then I started using Notepad++ after I realized you didn't actually have to buy an IDE (silly me)

but have since moved on to CodeLobster, which is free and a little more techy than Notepad++

I use Coda for Mac, it's a all-in-one syntax highlighting (S)FTP browser, downloader and uploader and much more.
It makes my life easier, all I have to do to save my script to the server, is to press CMD+S and it re-uploads the modified file.

It's not free unfortunately, it comes with a $99 price tag... But I do recommend it.
