hi, im looking at buying a book on php/mysql.

would anybody be able to recomend a good book.

There are several threads on this topic already. Try searching the PHP forum for 'PHP books'.

Before spending ANY money.

Go to:

And do the WHOLE php tutorial.

Once done, Get a book.

The tutorial is easy to follow and is what got me started.

ive had a skim through but it doesnt really go into much detail which i hope a book will, and ive had a search for php books on the internet and in this forum and all the books are from like 2002 - 2004 at the oldest which seems a little outdated.

does anybody no of any practical tutorials where it goes through step by step to making different scripts . i find this the best way of learning
