I am trying to get the script on this site to work:

The error has been:

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /index.php on line 15

This is pointing to the while loop, in both the files, index.php and sub.php. I can't for the life of me figure it out. If you have the mind to make me get it, please do...

Looks like a syntax error in the query:

PHP Code:

$query = "SELECT * FROM 'categories' WHERE 'parentid' = 0 ORDER BY 'catid' ASC"; 


Table names shouldn't be quoted. They can be surrounded with backticks (`), but don't need to be unless the table name is a keyword. The same goes for column names.

Try

PHP Code:

$query = "SELECT * FROM categories WHERE parentid = 0 ORDER BY catid ASC"; 


Sorry nul, I've tried that before, and still no go. I still get the same error.

1, Yes, according to the page...I will try it again and see
2. No, Haven't tried the outcome of the db, but it's making the obvious connection, so I don't think that is an issue
3. No, I will also try that and post back.

I just got in from work, so bare with me...I will check those two things and post the results back here.

Please check database connection string. Mainly the host, username and password string for connection.
