ok, im not sure if this will make too much sense but i am working on a website for a client and they want to be able to let people post wanted ads on to the site (like in free ads and the yellow). Is this possible with out using php? i would ideally like a remotely hosted script.

there will be various scripts around which may meet your needs - have you attempted to locate the script via the search engines?

thanks for the reply, ive had a look on hotscripts but its not exactly a classified ads script i only want people to be able to post what they are wanting

google CGI scripts and im sure you will find something

lufc - if your client is willing to pay a bit for such a script it may be worth chatting to some ppl on these forums - there are many ppl who will be able to help you if you give them a full spec....

from what you require you will have to use PHP/PERL/ASP or any other scripting language.

If your server supports php/MySQL try Noahs classifieds http://classifieds.phpoutsourcing.com/ . If you let people post anything it will be difficult to limit what kinds of posts they will make so you might need to explain the sites rules and moderate the posts.
