Can you clarify what you are trying to do?

This can be done using javascript, not PHP.

my website is still under development but it is civilwarstudy.co.cc, if you look at my navigation bar you will see resources what I want to do is make that a drop down so under resources you will have I guess you would call them sub navigation in which I would like to have links, books, films, and my resources that I am giving to people from my studies which that a may just call study and then that would have a side drop down which would be broken down for easy finding for what they are looking for i.e. casualties, battles, medicine during the civil war and topics like that. I would also like input on if you think it would be better to make the drop down the type where if you put your mouse over the navigation item it will automatically drop down or a forced click drop down.
hope this is better info to give an idea of what I want to do if you need more info I will give more info.
Thanks for the help

Use CSS to implement your navigation (javascript isn't search engine friendly). Google css drop down and you'll find lots of examples.
