Hello...

I have recently set up my first phpBB forum and modified it to suit my company's needs... Of course now that it is set up the boss needs an email sent out to all twenty members of the board telling them to check it out...

I have been trying and trying to figure this out, I have been looking in a bunch of the files and trying to include a mail function but I can't get a statement to work just when "posting.php" is submitted...

Can anyone follow what I am trying to do and do you have any suggestions to help?

I have had a lot of ideas that didn't pan out becuase I can't quite figure out what is going on the scripts and where exactly the page is submitted among other things...

ooh, I have not been on that site before, thanks for the links...

Still can't find what I need or anybody that currently has or has had a similar problem... This is so frustrating... I can see why they would like everyone to be emailed every time there is a new post but I don't really understand why it needs to be a necessity in order to go live with this board (its just a board for school directors at different locations to be able to talk to each other)

They have a way so you get automatic updates when someone responds to a post, so logically I figure there is a way to do this, but I am getting seemingly nowhere with this...

There is a built in function that allows members to 'subscribe' to posts. I am not really familiar with phpBB but it might be worth looking at modding that function to send emails as default for all posts. Doubt it would be too difficult.

I found this mod over on the phpBB board if anyone comes upon this post and is interested.... I have been altering it all day... But it works!
